BUT, minecraft on single player with distance on 'tiny' and all applications closed, it just cant handle, it so jumpy that its actually impossible to play. I would have thought a laptop that costs this much and has this high specs would be able to handle minecraft. My old laptop was the white macbook from late 2008, this is a link to the specs. I play on a Macbook Air and have never had a problem. I use Optifine and mods so no worries there all i would say is that you won't be able to run at full spec at least with the cheapest Air. I have been playing on this particular Air for about 2 years now with no issues so go nuts, welcome to the club! Miscellanea

As Cinebench benchmark tells, MacBook Air Core i5 1.6 11 inches (Mid-2011) is 7.7% faster than its’ predecessor due to Sandy Bridge Intel processor and Intel integrated graphics. It’s also a bit heavier.

MacBooks Airs of 2011 were shipped with two panels: either Samsung or LG Philips, the latter being a tad dimmer than the former. To know which panel you have, open up terminal and execute this string: ioreg -lw0 grep IODisplayEDID sed “/[^<]*</s///” xxd -p -r strings -6.

The output will look something like this: LP116WH4-TJA3; Color LCD; LP stands for LG Philips, and LT – for Samsung.
